Request for Quotes: Port Townsend Skatepark Lights

The City of Port Townsend is requesting Quotes for the supply of solar skatepark lights with the ability to turn on and off lights at the Skatepark location at the corners of Monroe and Jefferson streets.

INSTRUCTIONS & GUIDELINES

The bid will be received for the supply of solar lights for the Port Townsend Skatepark located on the corner of Monroe and Jefferson Streets.  All quotes are based on the specifications included in this packet.

     1. The city of Port Townsend will award the selection based on the guidelines below for installation in late 2024 or early 2025.

Scope

The City of Port Townsend is requesting that proposers provide the specifications, layout, design, and lumens to light the skate park bowls. The solar lights should be at least 170 watts, aluminum poles, and 4 poles total.  Lights shall be 40 ft or approved equal.

Basic Design Guidelines

• Design should include a lighting design to appropriately illuminate all bowls.
• The City is interested in aluminum poles or galvanized steel for the salty sea environment.
• The City is interested in lights that can be manually turned on and off for evening skating.
• The bid should include tax, shipping and handling.
• The City will hire an engineer to design the installation given any instructions from the manufacturer.

Solar Skatepark Lights

The maximum expenditure for all costs related to this proposal is $30,000, including tax.

Additional Comments                        

Items quoted shall be F.O.B. Port Townsend, Washington 98368.

The City of Port Townsend reserves the right to make any minor deviations that could be considered beneficial to the City.

Equipment Selection

The City of Port Townsend would like to get the most energy-efficient solar lights that shine enough lumens to light up the bowls of the skatepark. The City of Port Townsend will award the bid for the best design with the lowest cost bids meeting the design requirements.  The city will evaluate bids based on lowest price and meeting the specifications.

The City reserves the right to reject any or all quotes for cause and to waive any formalities.
