35th Street Park

General Description:
35th Street Park provides an urban forested area with mature native trees, wetlands, and a few primitive parks.
History:
In 1995, Jefferson County deeded 6 acres of the park to the City. The development was designated for use as an active park with a play field, parking, restrooms, basketball court, and children’s play structure. The property is currently undeveloped, with no existing plans to develop. Existing wetlands, stormwater management, and neighboring property owner disapproval have delayed the development of this property. In 2002, the City purchased additional acres adjacent to the original parcel with less complicated by wetlands than the original parcel.
